Been thinking a lot about minimalism, productivity and utilitarianism recently. Here’s some nuggets I’ve dug up.
- portability is a function and it stokes creativity by removing barriers
- it really is okay to love your tools. (Not a euphemism)
- interoperability in technology removes barriers, you only notice the barriers when the interoperability breaks
- it’s okay to be bad at things. Talent is a myth. It’s the end point of hard work in the guise of competency
- if a pastime isn’t working toward an outcome, or building a skill, don’t do it.
- time is the only non-renewable resource. Respect that fact. No really, respect it.
